Caring for your new plants

In this article we are going to look at caring for your new plants because this is the most common question we are asked.
What do I do with my plants when they arrive?

We will try to address this question and alleviate any worries or concerns you may have.

After the plants arrive, it is advisable to follow these easy steps.

  • Carefully unpack your plant order. Do not slice through the box with a knife because this may damage the plant(s).
  • The plant(s) may look a bit dry or tired after their journey through the postal system, this is normal. Water them. The plants will pick up after 24 hours.
  • If any leaves are damaged because of posting, you may cut them off.
  • The following day, you can plant your plants. Please note: The plants should be okay if left in the pots for a few days. If you do leave them in the pots, place them in a sheltered position.
  • Once planted, water well, but do not overwater.
  • For the first few weeks, water sparingly, but do not let the plant dry out, nor do you want to over-water it.
  • After a few weeks, the planted plants will have settled. A little fertiliser may be beneficial.
